Summer is here! Yesterday was 70 degrees with pretty blue skies and I enjoyed sitting in my backyard… on a large old blanket. While the seating was a bit of a let down, I am looking forward to building a back deck, and decorating it for the summer season.
Long Alaskan summer nights are filled with fun, and with all the extra hours of light, lots of time can be spent outdoors on the patio.
Here are some of my favorite ideas and inspiration for our back deck.
I have commissioned my husband to build this basic wooden sectional to be adorned with cushions and pillows for maximum seating, and minimalist style.
If you wanted to take it to the next level, you could turn your bench into storage with the help of a hinge.
I love the look and affordability of an a few butterfly chairs, like the ones we saw in the gardens of the Parker Palm Springs. Lastly, how cute (and easy to build) is this smores station? It could be used next to the grill for food prep, and then storage for plastic plates and cups.
Simple, laid back seating for summer nights. Just add some string lights and a fire pit and you know where to find me until September!
Once all of my ideas have come to fruition and my plans have been completed, I will share our back yard space on the site!
